I am new to all of this

To whom it may concern:

I want to start canning can you please tell me the cooking time I need and the pressure setting
I purchased a presto 800 canner it has a 10 # shaker on it a person told me to buy one that has 5 # 10 # 15 # please advise.

Pressure Cooking

Each food has a different amount of time required when pressure cooking.

Your altitude determines the pounds of pressure needed.

Refer to the following page for detailed instructions:


You can still use the 5#, 10#, and 15# shaker. Use the shaker that is just above the required pressure for your altitude. For example: In Paradise, Utah I need to use at least 13# of pressure, I would use the 15# shaker.
