canned foods shelf life

As long as the seal remains unbroken, what is the average shelf life of foods canned in the quart jar methods.

Answer: I usually try to use my food a year or two after it has been canned. I have used food that is about 10 years old. If it looks bad, smells bad, has a broken or bulging lid, I throw it out. Use common sense on this one.
