How's your summer? I've taken a little summer break during the month of June and haven't added any new pages to the website. I'm going to do something a little different in this newsletter.

With everything that's happening in our economy and with the increase in natural disasters, I've asked myself several questions: Is the time coming when I'm going to have to live on the food I've stored? Is life, as I know it now, going to change? What can I do now to prepare my family, friends, and neighbors?

Many of you have probably asked some of the same kinds of questions. When the time to act is here, the time to prepare is over. This month Provident Living Today is doing a few things to help you help others.

If you want to save money and put together a group order for some of the things we have on the website, contact me. This offer is for Rewards Subscribers during the months of July and August.

Let's start with clean drinking water, because water is more important than food. Do you have a way to purify your water during an emergency? The five-item water purification kit gives you several options when it comes to emergency water purification. Encourage your friends and family to get prepared. When you buy 5 kits you save $60.

Now let's talk about food. Bulk food is the cheapest way to get your basic food storage. The LDS cannery is open to all and has the best prices I can find. The food storage chart gives suggestions as to how much each person needs.

You'll survive on basic bulk food storage, but it'll taste better if you can add some flavor and variety.

Learn to grow and can your own food so that you're not relying on outside sources to replenish your food supply. It's reassuring to know that we can grow, harvest, and store more food than we can eat during the winter. Our eating and cooking habits are being readjusted, but we're learning how to make this new eating style a natural part of our lives.

You might not have the space to grow your own food and would like to add variety to your bulk food storage. There are companies that specialize in making tasty, long-term, storable food. Shelf Reliance is one of those companies. You can now go to a Food Storage Party and taste the food before you buy it. If you host a Food Storage Party, you can earn free food. Contact me if you'd like to be a hostess.

You can also store canned food that you buy at the grocery store. This last week someone told me about a way to eliminate my grocery bill. You can do it too. Watch this 4-minute video. If you're interested in learning more, contact me.

How are you going to cook your food without gas and electricity? Using a Rocket Stove or a Solar Cookit are a couple of solutions. Also, learn how to keep your food cool without using electricity.

What about personal hygiene and sanitation needs: feminine hygiene, baby diapers, toilet paper, soap, etc? Life without these items can be a little stressful.

What are some things you can do at home to take care of your family if someone gets sick? Three of my favorite items in my home health kit are: Oregano, Spice Traders, and Ionic Silver. Make sure to read what other readers have said about these natural remedies.

I love hearing your good ideas. Also, let me know what you want to see on the website, and I'll see what I can do. Let your friends and family know about Provident Living Today and help encourage them to live providently today and prepare for future.

Have a Great Month,

Jennifer
